What are the types of nebulizers?

At present, four main types of inhalers are used in medical practice: steam, ultrasonic, compressor, electron-mesh .

Ultrasound, compressor, electron-mesh are united by the term "nebulizers", they do not generate pairs, but an aerosol cloud consisting of microparticles of an inhaled solution. The nebulizer allows you to inject drugs into all the respiratory organs (nose, bronchi, lungs) in pure form.

Dispersion of aerosols produced by most nebulizers ranges from 1.0 to 10 μm. Particles 8-10 μm in diameter settle in the oral cavity and trachea, 5 to 8 μm in diameter - in the trachea and upper respiratory tract, 3 to 5 μm  - in the bronchi and lower respiratory tract, 1 to 3 μm - in bronchioles, 0.5 to 2 μm - in the alveoli. Particles 5μm are called "respirable fraction" and have the maximum therapeutic effect.
